Indian Airforce AFCAT 2024 Recruitment: Eligibility Criteria

To maintain specific standards, the IAF has set specific eligibility criteria for various branches:

Nationality:

Candidates must be Indian citizens.

Age Limit:

  • Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years as of 1 July 2024 (born between 2 July 2000 and 1 July 2004). For aspirants with a valid Commercial Pilot Licence, the upper age limit is 26 years as of 1 July 2024.
  • Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branches: 20 to 26 years as of 1 July 2024 (born between 2 July 1998 and 1 July 2004).

Educational Qualifications:

  • Flying Branch:
    • 60% marks in each subject’s Math and Physics at 10+2 level.
    • An undergraduate degree (minimum three years) in any discipline with at least 60% marks.
    • BE/B Tech degree (four years) from a recognized university with at least 60% marks.
  • Ground Duty (Technical Branch):
    • Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) [AE (L)]:
      • 60% marks in each subject’s Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.
      • Four years of degree in Engineering/Technology from a recognized university in India.
    • Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) [AE (M)]:
      • 60% marks in each subject’s Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.
      • Four years degree in Engineering/Technology from a recognized university in India.
  • Ground Duty (Non-Technical Branches):
    • Administration: Graduation degree (minimum three years) in any discipline with at least 60% marks or a post-graduate degree with at least 50% marks from a recognized university in India.
    • Logistics: Same requirements as Administration.
    • Accounts: B.Com degree with at least 60% marks or a post-graduate degree in Commerce (M.Com)/CA/ICWA with at least 50% marks from a recognized university in India.

Indian Airforce AFCAT 2024 Recruitment: Selection Procedure

The selection process includes several stages for Indian Airforce AFCAT 2024 Recruitment to ensure the best candidates have been selected:

  1. AFCAT Written Exam:  A written test (Multiple choice type) on General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning, and Military Aptitude.
  2. Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT): For Ground Duty (Technical) recruitment, to test their technical knowledge of Engineering.
  3. Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) Test:
    • Stage I: Officer Intelligence Rating Test and Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PP&DT).

  4. Medical Examination: This is the last stage of the selection process and it is conducted by the Air Force Medical Authorities for those recommended by the AFSB.
